In the heart of the Vlottenburg Valley, where the Eerste River winds its way through the tranquil landscape, lies the legendary Van Ryn’s Brandy Distillery, the first distillery to open its doors to visitors.
Its rich history dates back to 1845, when Dutch immigrant Jan Van Ryn arrived at the Cape. |
Van Ryn has the proud distinction of being the founder of the Van Ryn’s Wine and Brandy Company, as well as the father of a proud tradition of excellence in maturation.
At the Van Ryn’s Distillery and Brandy Cellar visitors can view the distillation process and witness coopers making maturation barrels from French oak in the traditional manner. |

Enjoy tastings of the award-winning Van Ryn’s range, and witness the creation of the worldwide best brandy.
Featured brandies include the Van Ryn’s 10 Year Old, and the 12, 15 and 20 Year old potstill brandies, each created for the connoisseur. |
We offer a selection of function facilities at different costs, depending on the occasion and the number of guests.
We also offer monthly introductory brandy courses. These dates are available on request.
